I have cleared CCAH, HCA and HDPCD successfully for the last 3 months (1 per month). This could not have been possible without (@itversity ). Many thanks to sir Durga for the time and effort on the creation of such a valuable contents.
So let me share my experience on those certifications.
Study material: ITVersity playlist, Hadoop The Definitive Guide, Hadoop Operations and Cloudera Administration course.
It’s a hard and tricky exam, you need to be prepared to answer questions about configuration parameters and know the YARN + HDFS architecture very well. Unfortunately this exam is in EOL.
Study Material: Follow the topics on HCA Exam Objectives pdf and go through the Hortonworks tools/technologies webpage. Complement with YARN + HDFS Architeture (NameNode, DataNode, SecondaryNameNode, ResourceManager, NodeManager, ApplicationMaster).
This is an entry point exam, focused on use cases and the high technologies to implement those use cases on Hadoop Ecosystem. It’s not necessarily a long time to be prepared, and if you have some experience in a production or even a PoC enviroment and use cases you will not need too much time to be prepared.
Study Material: ITVersity playlist (very good!) and HDPCD AWS practice exam.
Practice, Practice, Practice. You need to be comfortable with the syntax and the logic behind the tools (PIG and HIVE), understand very well how they work and how you can analyze the data with those tools. Practice by your hand, it’s fundamental. The time to complete the exam it’s not to much and you need to be pragmatic on that.
If anyone needs help with any of these certifications, please let me know and i will try to help on this topic.
The next goal is to clear the CCA159 Data Analyst, so if someone has some study material or experience to share, i’m interested.
And again, thanks sir Durga!
