Flume-ng is not working for me

When I tried the below command,
flume-ng agent --name a1 --conf-file /home/robji_100/flume_demo/example.conf

flume is not starting, as can be seen from the log snippet,

ERROR StatusLogger No log4j2 configuration file found. Using default configuration: logging only errors to the console. Set system property ‘log4j2.debug’ to show Log4j2 internal initialization logging.

No indication of source, sink started.
