Hive-Site Xml is missing

I was trying to understand the Hive meta store while following your second video on Hive. I can’t see metastore table in mysql and also i can’t see hive-site.xml in Hive installation directory i have installed

cloudera version Hadoop 2.5.0-cdh5.3 and hive version apache-hive-2.1.0. Could you please explain what went wrong in my case.

No way of missing hive-site.xml file. Please check in /etc/hive/conf
Check below:

[vanampudi@gw01 ~]$ cd /etc/hive/conf
[vanampudi@gw01 conf]$ ls ivysettings.xml
conf.server mapred-site.xml
hive-default.xml.template hive-site.xml

Please find the screen shot of my /hive/conf folder.

I even tried finding hivre-site.xml in my Ubantu system, but the configuration file is missing.I follwed the below steps to install hive
Download the package of Apache Hive hive-1.1.0+cdh5.11.0+1013

untar the file by typing

tar -xvzf hive-1.1.0-cdh5.11.0.tar.gz

sudo mv hive-1.1.0-cdh5.11.0 /usr/local/hive

sudo gedit ~/.bashrc
export HIVE_HOME="/usr/local/hive"
export PATH="$PATH:$HIVE_HOME/bin"
source ~/.bashrc
restart terminal :

cd $HIVE_HOME/conf
sudo cp
sudo gedit

export HADOOP_HOME=/usr/local/hadoop
sudo apt-get install openjdk-8-jdk-headless

Per my knowledge, system config files are under /etc directory in Linux/Unix environment.
You should check in this location for hive-site.xml : /etc/hive/conf
Please check once again.

Note: /usr is for user related programs/apps in the form of binaries or executables.

Hope this help.
Please post if still issue persists.
