How to install Java and JDK on Ubuntu?

Hello,
I have install Ubuntu app and then try to install Java as instructed in resource document.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/java
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install oracle-java8-installer

when i ran ‘sudo apt-get install oracle-java8-installer’ command i for below error
Reading package lists… Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information… Done
Package oracle-java8-installer is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package ‘oracle-java8-installer’ has no installation candidate

Can you please help me complete installation of jdk ?

Oracle has made some changes to their Java Installations. I think it is old procedure that you are using. Please download the deb file from the Oracle and Install.
