My username is not reflected in hadoop fs

[purbitabiswas0608@gw03 ~]$ hadoop fs -ls /user/purbitabiswas0608
[purbitabiswas0608@gw03 ~]$

shows nothing. which means there is no user with purbitabiswas0608 in hadoop fs. I don’t have sudo access, so the below command does not work as well. Please help

sudo -u hdfs hadoop fs -mkdir /user/purbitabiswas0608

1 G /user/purbitabiswas0608/crime
