Sqoop Import job was failing with communication failure

Sqoop Import job was failing with communication failure. If this can be fixed by using the ip address instead host name, please give me the IP address for nn01.itversity.com. Here is the error.

@spark-ramu - Could you please paste the sqoop query?

@gnanaprakasam : Even i am facing same communication failure issue.

sqoop import
–connect “jdbc:mysql://nn01.itversity.com:3306/retail_db”
–username=retail_dba
–password=itversity
–table orders
–as-textfile
–target-dir=/user/mangleeswaran/orders

@mangleeswaran - I am not able to reproduce it, I just copied your query and executed with different target directory. It went through fine. Nothing wrong the query.

sqoop import
–connect “jdbc:mysql://nn01.itversity.com:3306/retail_db”
–username=retail_dba
–password=itversity
–table orders
–as-textfile
–target-dir=/user/gnanaprakasam/orders_Test

here is the sqoop script. I tried both the belowoptions but no result.

@gnanaprakasam : Folder alone is created. But data is not copied.
@itversity : Could you please look at this issue.

@spark-ramu - I tried first one, even though --table mentioned as -table, your query works for me. Not sure what is the problem here.

@gnanaprakasam : I think the problem happens only to some users. Hope after importing you have got the data in your folder.

@mangleeswaran - Yes, I do get the data in folder after importing.

Thanks both of you. looks like Itversity will have to look at this issue. Durga sir, Can you please help on this to resolve
