I am trying to connect mysql through sqoop but unable to do so.

sqoop list-databases --connect “jdbc:mysql://nn01.itversity.com:3306/retail_dba” --username retail_dba --password itversity

what am I missing here?

Your command:
sqoop list-databases --connect “jdbc:mysql://nn01.itversity.com:3306**/retail_dba**" --username retail_dba --password itversity

Correct command:

sqoop list-databases --connect “jdbc:mysql://nn01.itversity.com:3306” --username retail_dba --password itversity

You don’t need to specify database name when fetching the names of databases. Also error here is there is no database “retail_dba” its “retail_db” (Also make sure you are using right double quotes)

How can we run multiple sqoop command using shell scripts
