Unable to start Kafka

Hello,

I am trying to start Kafka and am getting below errors. I am following the instructions from the github link

[haryanam@gw02 ~]$ kafka
Usage: /usr/bin/kafka {start|stop|status|clean}
[haryanam@gw02 ~]$ kafka start
Can’t find pid dir.
[haryanam@gw02 ~]$ export KAFKA_HOME=/usr/hdp/2.5.0.0-1245/kafka
[haryanam@gw02 ~]$ export PATH=$PATH:$KAFKA_HOME/bin
[haryanam@gw02 ~]$ kafka-topics.sh --create \

–zookeeper nn01.itversity.com:2181,nn02.itversity.com:2181,rm01.itversity.com:2181
–replication-factor 1
–partitions 1
–topic kafkahy
bash: kafka-topics.sh: command not found…
[haryanam@gw02 ~]$

I am getting the same issue… even i follow up the above mentioned git link.

Get the aliases and functions

if [ -f ~/.bashrc ]; then
. ~/.bashrc
fi

User specific environment and startup programs

PATH=$PATH:$HOME/.local/bin:$HOME/bin
export KAFKA_HOME=/usr/hdp/2.5.0.0-1245/kafka
export PATH=$PATH:$KAFKA_HOME/bin
export PATH
