Communication Link failure - MySQL instance from IntelliJ

Hi, I am trying to run a sample program to connect to the MySQL instance on nn01.itversity.com from IntelliJ using Scala. However, it’s showing a communication link failure - suggesting it’s unable to communicate with the host. I’m able to connect to the same host using Putty and run queries on the same database, but facing these connection errors from IntelliJ.

Could someone please advise upon the resolution or suggestions for the same. Looking forward to early assistance. Thanks.

val driver = "com.mysql.jdbc.Driver"
val url = "jdbc:mysql://nn01.itversity.com:3306/hr"
val username = "hr_ro"
val password = "*****"

Error snippet:

Exception in thread “main” com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.CommunicationsException: Communications link failure

The last packet sent successfully to the server was 0 milliseconds ago. The driver has not received any packets from the server.

It worked now. Please disregard the post. No changes required.

What did you do to make it work?

I was prevented by firewall of the private network. Outside of the private network, I was able to ping successfully as well as connect to the database server.
