SQOOP - Access denied error

Hi ,

While performing import statement, i’m getting below error… Could you please help me to resolve.

[nagarajuonline@gw01 ~]$ sqoop import --connect jdbc:mysql://nn01/retail_db/ --table customers -m 1

Seems like access issue buddy , try running in sudo mode , they should be giving you permissions soon if that is the issue, in your command you haven’t specified any password to connect to the database

if you have password use the following template

sqoop import
–connect jdbc:mysql://airawat-mySqlServer-node/employees
–username myUID
–password myPWD
–table employees
-m 1
–target-dir /user/airawat/sqoop-mysql/employees

Try JDBC url as follows:

jdbc:mysql://nn01.itversity.com:3306/retail_db

You can just provide the username and password for the database retail_db
