SQOOP import error while creating HIVE table

getting below error while running below command:
sqoop import --num-mappers 1 --connect jdbc:mysql://quickstart.cloudera/retail_db --username retail_dba --password cloudera --table departments --hive-import --create-hive-table --hive-overwrite --outdir java_files

Loading data to table default.departments
chgrp: changing ownership of ‘hdfs://quickstart.cloudera:8020/user/hive/warehouse/departments/part-m-00000’: User does not belong to supergroup
Table default.departments stats: [numFiles=1, numRows=0, totalSize=82, rawDataSize=0]

The data getting transferred to HDFS location but only table not getting created.

@Ramkrushna27 Buddy first of all, its not an error.

Please check Hive.default Database. If we are not explicitly mention the parameter --hive-database then value is “default” database,

Yes I can see the tables now in db … I must have entered the wrong parameter earlier…


were you able to find the solution to this
"User does not belong to supergroup" ?


Unfortunately not… But it automatically fixed after restarting services.
