If you want to see the files present in your HDFS user directory. Please use the command below:
hdfs dfs -ls /user/<User Name> or
hadoop fs -ls /user/<User Name>
If you are not getting any data by trying above command.
Please go through the below command to create file & copy into your HDFS user directory.
hdfs dfs -put test.txt /user/<User Name>
And you will have read & write full permissions to your directory itself.
If you want to create a new directory in ‘/user/training’ directory as you are not having write permission to this user directory. You will get ‘Permission denied’ error.
